Sat Nam Rasayan
"Shuniya means zero. The moment you become zero, then all powers will prevail through you." ~ Yogi Bhajan
What is Sat Nam Rasayan ®?
What is healing? Look at this Sat Nam Rasayan: does Guru Dev Singh give you a massage and all that? All he does is put his hand on you. Sometimes he doesn't even touch you. Actually it is the "Sat Naam" which does the healing. You don't see God working." -Yogi Bhajan, 4/23/97
Sat Nam Rasayan® means “Deep Relaxation in the True Identity.” It is an ancient healing art of pure meditative absorption in the Divine. (1) Entering a state of Sat Nam Rasayan® means entering a state of total surrender, becoming nothing, and operating from the state of shuniya. The mind of the Sat Nam Rasayan® practitioner becomes transcendent and in the vastness of this consciousness healing can occur. (1)
This place of healing can be reached in a one-on-one setting of healer and client, between a teacher and a group of students, or within yourself in your own sadhana and daily life.
Sat Nam Rasayan® works on a subtle level through the projective meditative mind. It allows the healer to access and balance the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and ether) and the pranic body. (1)
The process involves holding a neutral, contemplative state of awareness, being aware of everything – all sensations – and then allowing the resistances to change and/or release as you continue to hold your state of awareness. Resistances can be distractions, differentiation of sensations, preconceptions, conditions, boundaries, or limits. (2)
Benefits of Sat Nam Rasayan ®
Even if you do not plan on becoming a healer, Sat Nam Rasayan® is a great tool to add to your Kundalini Yoga experience. It will enhance your awareness of your subtle body and expand the capacity of your meditative mind. Sat Nam Rasayan® opens your compassionate awareness so you can be sensitized and present. (1)
This yogic technology can have many healing benefits even if used solely for relaxation. Medical research has shown that relaxation lowers blood pressure, reduces anxiety, and stimulates immune system cells and their functions. (2)
Sat Nam Rasayan ® Training
The purpose of Sat Nam Rasayan® is to serve humanity. You can find classes and practitioners of Sat Nam Rasayan® in many cities worldwide, many with ties to communities of Kundalini Yoga.
While there are ongoing classes and Student Instructors of SNR® in numerous areas, there are several annual events that allow practitioners and students to come together with Guru Dev Singh, founder of the School of Sat Nam Rasayan, and immerse themselves in the practice, as well as test for the various levels. Guru Dev Singh teaches in New Mexico at Summer Solstice Sadhana and at Women’s Camp every year. For more information on Sat Nam Rasayan® or to register for SNR® events visit www.gurudevsnr.com.
