Quartz – The Purifying Crystals

By Kudrat Kaur Khalsa

Crystals are mainly thought of as tools used to purify a space which is otherwise cluttered or confused. They are said to dispel all forms of negative energy and increase the strength of one’s personal aura. They hold memory, and receive, activate, store, transmit and amplify energy.

Clear Quartz has long been the subject of spiritual beliefs and folklore. The Japanese view it as a symbol of infinite space. It is by far one of the most versatile and multidimensional stones in the mineral realm and it can be programmed by focused intention to assist one in achieving virtually any goal in life.

The purifying Quartz crystal is made up of silicon dioxide compound. Quartz crystals are found on every continent and believed to be in every country on Earth. The name “Quartz” comes from the Greek for ‘ice.’ Clear Quartz crystals are mostly thought of as colorless. They are shaped like a candle, a hexagonal prism with mostly smooth sides and faceted terminations at one or both ends.

However, Quartz varieties can occur in numerous other growing patterns, including compact or concretionary masses and fibrous forms, as well as micro-crystalline Quartz which is not prismatic.

Quartz also occurs in a wider range of environments: consolidated sediments such as sandstone, conglomerates, Granite, Quartzite, and gneisses. Quartz is the principle constituent of manmade glass, as well as Tektite and Obsidian, natural forms of glass.

Quartz is mostly known for its amazing properties of piezoelectricity, which can transform mechanical energy into electromagnetic energy and vice versa. This makes it very useful in such devices as crystal radios, microphones, watches, radio transmitters etc.

Clear your crystals occasionally by freezing them overnight, placing them in the sun, or simply putting them on top of a speaker while playing your spiritual music. Be sure to use or mix in some amazing and powerful Quartz crystals in your next meditation mala, and remember to visualize the image of your intention, knowing this will have the effect of powerful psychic amplification!
